2) Ion Exchange Resin

Overview

Samyang began ion-exchange resins business in 1977 through technological alliance with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. It has since developed special-use resins and functional products while continuously developing innovative technologies.
Samyang has also adopted ion-exchange equipment designs from Nippon Rensui Corporation and has become the only company in Korea that provides technological services such as equipment design, process development, and technology consulting. Ion-exchange resins were initially used mainly for desalinization, but are now being widely used in separation, refining, decolorization, and as a catalyst for foods, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, semiconductors, and nuclear power. In March 2000, Samyang obtained ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certifications, and has continued to enhance the quality of its products and services

Strongly Acidic Cation

Crosslinked polystylene matrix. High stability for organic solvents, strong acids, strong bases and other reducing agents. The higher the grade number, the higher the stability against oxidation. Especially, in case of porous structure of these resins, some characteristics which are superior to gel type resins include high reaction rate, strong decolorization capability, good stability against organic fouling, high physical strength, etc. The higher the grade number, the higher the stability against oxidation.

Strongly Basic Anion

Type 1 is high chemical stability. And type 2, lower basicity and chemical stability, but higher regeneration efficiency than type 1. Especially, in case of porous structure of these resins, some characteristics which are superior to gel type resins include high reaction rate, strong decolorization capability, good stability against organic fouling, high physical strength, etc.

Weakly Acidic Anion

Crosslinked polymethacrylate(WK10, WK11) and polyacylate(WK20) matrix, Weakly acidic cation resin. Large exchange capacity and high generation efficiency.

Weakly Basic Anion

Crosslinked polyacrylate(WA10, WA11), Polystyrene(WA20, WA21) polystylene matrix. Weakly basic anion exchange resin high regeneration efficiency and large exchange capacity.
